The monoclonal antibody clone pL5-28.03 recognizes large (L) protein of the mumps virus vaccine strains (Jeryl Lynn 5 and L-Zagreb (GenBank Acc. Nos. AF338106.1 and AY685920.1) and wild type mumps virus strains (9218/Zg98, MuVi/Split.CRO/05.11(G) (also called 2282), Du/CRO05 (GenBank Acc. Nos. EU370206.3, JN635498.1 and EU370207.1, respectively) and MuCroB).
The large (L) protein is a multifunctional protein that catalyzes RNA synthesis, mRNA capping, and mRNA polyadenylation. L protein has a molecular mass of 257 kDa. The antibody was generated using the last 18 L protein aminoacids fused to GST as an immunogen.
Our anti-Mumps large (L) protein antibody, clone pL5-28.03 has been validated in WB on ultracentrifuged supernatants of Vero cells infected with various mumps strains.
