Description
SARS-CoV-2 nsp8 is a non-structural protein which forms a complex with nsp7 and acts as a primase in the synthesis of viral RNA. Nsp8 and nsp7 are essential co-factors of nsp12, catalytic subunit with RNA-dependent RNA polymerase activity. This complex is the core component for mediating viral RNA synthesis.
