The monoclonal antibody VZ10.12 recognizes VZV ORF10.

ORF10 protein belongs to the herpesvirus UL49 gene family and is a homolog of the herpes simplex type 1 (HSV-1) protein VP16 (J Gen Virol 1986. 67 (Pt 9): 1759-1816).This tegument protein acts as a transactivator of the VZV ORF62 gene (J Virol 1993. 67: 2739-2746). ORF10 protein is dispensable for the VZV replication in vitro (J Virol 2006. 80: 3238-3248, J Virol 1994. 68: 7850-7858).

Our anti-ORF10 antibody has been validated in ELISA (on immunogen) and in WB (VZV infected cell lysates) recognizing band as described in J Virol. 2013 Jun;87(12):6943-54.
