The monoclonal antibody S1.05 recognizes SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein.
SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein is a structural transmembrane glycoprotein comprised of two subunits (S1 and S2), size of 180–200 kDa. It protrudes from the surface of the SARS-CoV-2 virion and is essential for binding to the host cell via host ACE-2 receptor. Spike protein is a main target for neutralizing antibodies and vaccines. Our anti-Spike antibody clone S1.05 was validated in ELISA, FACS (on Vero E6 cells) and IF (on SARS-CoV-2 infected Vero E6 cells) using WT virus and several variants of concern, as described in Pribanić Matešić et al. Viruses 2022, 14(2), 443. The S1.05 antibody does not perform in WB.
