The monoclonal antibody ORF9b.07 recognizes SARS-CoV-2 ORF9b accessory protein.
SARS-CoV-2 genome encodes eight accessory proteins designated as ORFs. ORF9b is synthesized from reading frame within the Nucleocapsid gene, size of 10 kDa. This protein is associated with the mitochondrial membrane of the host cell. It interacts with a number of other SARS-CoV-2 proteins, (ORF6, nsp5, nsp14, Envelope protein). The ORF9b protein is involved in modulating the host immune response by suppressing interferon response via its interactions with Tom70, a component of the mitochondrial translocase of the outer membrane (TOM) complex.
Our anti-ORF9b antibody has been validated in ELISA (on ORF9b recombinant protein), western blot (on ORF9b recombinant protein and infected Vero E6 cells) and IF (SARS-CoV-2 infected Vero cells), as described in Pribanić Matešić et al. Viruses 2022, 14(2), 443)
