The monoclonal antibody anti-MATp1 recognizes MCMV protein MATp1.
MATp1 is a 11-kDa protein that is encoded by the MCMV’s most abundant transcript (MAT). It is involved in major histocompatibility complex class I (MHC I) trafficking and immune evasion. Together with MCMV protein m04, MATp1 bind to MHC I molecules in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and helps m04/MHC I complex formation and its egress to the cell surface where this complex engages inhibitory Ly49 receptors in order to prevent NK cell activation and killing (J Exp Med 2019. 216(8):1809-1827; PLOS Pathogens 2013. 9:e1003611).
Our anti-MATp1 antibody has been validated in ELISA (on immunogen), WB (MCMV infected cell lysates), IP (MCMV infected cell lysates) and proximity ligation assay (MCMV infected cells) as described in J Exp Med 2019. 216(8):1809-1827.
